「 10:15 AM 」

I hate it when people order me around. And there is one hippopotamus of a sloth of a fuckin ape of a disgusting snake of an idiot doing just that to me.

How far can I run? I am contemplating...

In other news, I have been bitten by a mosquito at three different spots in my body in less that 5minutes. And no, I am not standing in a swamp. Grrr.

I have a sudden burning desire to expose Indians, their community, beliefs, practices and I shall...very soon.....

Watch this space.

After much consideration, pain, agony and boredom, FTBF and I decided to head to Changi Airport, T3 last night. I mean, with all the recent hype, we simply had to see it for ourselves.

Word of Advice: Do not go to T3 at night. Because you can't see a damn thing at the viewing gallery, thus leading you to kick youself for missing the opportunity to see the hugeass aircraft/airbus etc. I'm sure the aircrafts sit in the dark and feel very lonely. With the new layout, the aircraft is so close to the gallery, that you truly believe if you just extend your hands further, you will be able to touch the aircraft.

Yes, it is that amazing.

The rest of T3 is modern, chic and cold. The decor is uniqe but unfortunately not inviting. Most of the terminal feels like cold, hard concrete slabs. I liked the idea of T3top though, which I didn't get to see fully and FTBF was intrigued by the giant, robotic creature looking thing that moves. Not sure its purpose though...

Of course, FTBF was also mesmerised and couldn't stop gawking at the numerous Singapore girls who freely walked past us, with their inner thigh peeking through their ultra tight kebaya skirt. Need I say more...?

Ok, the flip side: If you intend to visit T3 for the dining/shopping experience, pls be prepared to be disappointed. There is almost nothing spectacular about the retail outlets and are repetitive. You will find familiar brands like, Blush, Body Shop, Braun Buffel, Chomel, Mont Blanc, Cartier, Bengawan Solo and The Cocoa Trees. Also, some parts of the terminal looked strangely like a replica of T2, which led me to realise the significant lack of creativity.

As for dining; *cue to yawn here* Earle Swensens, Crystal Jade, TCC, Coffee Bean, Sakae Sushi and Brewerkz, which I must admit, is one of the nicest looking restaurant as it's shaped like a dome. It is very small though, but pretty. Actually, the Crystal Jade Shanghai Restaurant is also shaped similarly.

So, we walked around T3 only to find a Queue of at least 20 ppl at ALL the restaurants. Hence, we had little choice but to settle at tcc. (Yes, how bloody exciting, I know).

Anyhow, we waited in line for about 30minutes for a seat, ordered our food and waited 1 hour for the food and waited a further 15minutes for our drinks and get this, another 20 minutes for our bill (which btw was misprinted a total of 4 times). Here's the best part: Neither of us lost our patience throughout the entire experience. Yes. See, I told you my patience has improved dramatically! Now you surely must believe me!!

So, yes.. food was pretty decent, the drinks tasted like murky drain water and the waitress was sweet and jovial. Apart from this, there was also lack of privacy as we were sandwiched between two couples with our tables, a mere 5cm apart. Not to add, the couple on the left were highly annoying, obnoxious and eavesdropped on our conversation.

Conclusion: Next year, Feb 14, I will be sure to eat at home. Yes, definitely.

Its that day again.

The day where almost all couples dine at expensive restaurants, receive/give flowers, chocolates, teddy bears and cards with red hearts splashed all over the cover.

Yes, the word tacky comes to mind. But hey, theses gifts/activities has become synonymous with Feb 14. Yes, and this is a highly developed country we live in. Pfft.

So brace yourself because I guarantee you will run into several cutesy girls/women with stalks of red/pink/white flowers and teddy bears in hand. Oh god, the cliche is KILLING me.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with the mum.

Mum: Are you going out Feb 14? I think FTBF and you should go for a nice meal and do something out of the norm
Me: *looks at her in disbelief* Don't tell me even you have been suckered into this Feb 14 crap?
Mum: *looks back at me in disbelief* Can you pls act your age and not be so critical of everything?
Me: *looks bored* No.
Mum: I refuse to talk to you, I shall ask FTBF instead.

The next day, the following conversation took place without me.

Mum: Hey, I was telling Rekha yesterday that two of you should go some place nice for dinner and do something out of the ordinary on Feb 14.
FTBF: Huh? But Auntie..must meh?
Mum: *in utter disbelief* Oh my god, how boring are the two of you?
FTBF: Aiyah Auntie..its no big deal really...its just another day..Right? Besides, it'll be so crowded everywhere.
Mum: *shakes her head* Okay lor, fine. Good to know both of you are on the same page. *continues tsk-ing*

It tickles me that we are vehemently against Feb 14. But on the other hand, it leads me to wonder..are we REALLY a boring couple? No, Can't be! Errr... can't be... right?

*edited*

Trust is amazing. And that is all I shall say.

In other news, I ran into three friends from different backgrounds in less than 1/2 a day. Which also means, I had flashbacks/memories from Perth, my previous job and sec school all in one day.

That's plenty of reminiscing, if you ask me, albeit heartwarming. And, running into all of them has to mean something right?

I await the reason......

In more other news, I would like to wring someone's neck.

Is it normal to leave work halfway w/o informing the colleague you closely work with? He turned to me at 2pm as I was in the midst of clearing the heap of work that had come in, and said: Ok, i have to go now..am leaving for the day, and he just left. Leaving me looking on, dumbfounded.

How convenient. Leaving me to clear up ALL the work by myself which took a good 5 hours. So much for team work.

Pffffft. Fuckin pfft i say.

You know its CNY when:

a. Singapore looks like a war town, minus the blood & gore.
b. everywhere you turn, you see at least 4-5 people clad in red.
c. your favourite Bak Chor Mee/Chicken Rice (insert any favourite Chinese food) stall is closed for 6 days straight.
d. you get a seat for yourself and your entire extended Indian family in the MRT. (Ok, ok.. I exaggerate)
e. you see more Chinese women with make up. (possibly leading to an assumption that they actually do take a shower on the two very special days of CNY)
f. you flip channels and see fantastic Hong Kong movies, mostly starring Stephen Chow.
g. you step out of the house and see a sea of brown/darker shade (people) on the streets instead of the usual pale yellow shade.
h. you can actually go out, walk around aimlessely and return home, NOT angry. Cuz all the impatient, pushing, shoving, complaining aunties are all indoors celebrating the occasion.
i. you eat homecooked food for four full days, every single meal.
j. you have unusual cravings for Chinese food at wee hours in the morning. (only because you know you can't get any!)
k. you truly thank the government for enforcing English as the first language in the Singapore, at the very least, considering the population is almost completely Chinese.
l. you are dying to go shopping but simply cannot.
m. you actually dread the holidays since there's not much to do, with the Chinese conveniently disappearing for a good 6-7 days.

You know something?

Never thought I would proclaim this on my blog, but in the last 5 days, I truly missed the Chinese. . . .

Bliss.

Is taking a long cab ride from home to client's office in Pandan Loop, soaking in the sun, scenery, greenery and serenity that you can only find early in the morning.
Is staring deeply into old HDB flats and appreciating the nostalgia before its time for an en-bloc.
Is drinking freshly brewed sweet kopi pok at 9am in the office.
Is having carrot cake with extra black sauce, chwee kueh and kopi O with loved ones on a bright, early Sunday morning.
Is how the house looks and feels on a Saturday morning.
Is a ride with the FTBF to a faraway, quaint destination never explored before.
Is supper on Friday night along with the hustle and bustle of a hawker centre.
Is lazing on the couch with the brother discussing our current read.
Is coming home to mouth watering delights by the mum.
Is receiving an sms from the FTBF that articulates exactly what is on your mind at that very moment..
Is being able to do work without anyone looking over your shoulder.
Is grocery shopping for random things.
Is starting off Saturday & Sunday at 7am.
Is watching the FTBF sleep.
Is chatting with the mum about various issues, only to have my exact thoughts reflected by her.
Is when the brother bakes, because his desserts are to die for.
Is the comfy, black and white striped quilt.
Is memories of Perth.
Is when you run into an old friend and realise the person has been wanting to meet you all these years.
Is watching your dear friend get married and being a huge part of it.
Is Fridays.

Its hilarious when you have an Indian, a Thai and several Chinese people in a conference call.

The Chinese got annoyed with the Indian and the Thai for being slow on engaging a celebrity for an impending event. This is how the conversation went.

Chinese: We have to work within our budget, can you guys please find a talent that fits with our campaign soon?
Thai/Indian: Yes, we are working on it. Everyone is charging too much or can't commit.
Chinese: [losing their patience] Well, I'm not asking for Jodie Foster you know!
Thai: Yeah, But........
Indian: [laughs heartily] No, even I don't want Jodie Foster! Someone like Jessica Alba will be much better. [continues laughing]
Chinese: DEAD SILENCE

And I just realised that Indians never fail to crack me up...And they have a weird sense of humour. Hoho.
